It's Prompting Time Again!

Hello, all! I haven't updated in a while because my life during the summer is apparently quite dull, but I do have a few updates.

First of all, I've been plagued with writer's block lately (or at least a lack of plot bunnies), and I'd really like to start writing again. Especially since I have a Big Bang lurking in my future.

So.... prompt me, please, my darling flist! I'll take any prompts that have to do with the DCU (especially Batfam, Trinity, and Justice League), the Dresden Files, or even Marvel's Young Avengers. Other fandoms - like Supernatural or Temeraire - are possible, as well, so just ask! I'd really appreciate it, guys. Thanks! :D

Also, I finished Ghost Story a couple of days ago and I must say, I am pretty damn pleased. Here are my thoughts:

Also I finally read The Left hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin and it was incredible. So thought-provoking and hauntingly beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a fantastic, intelligent sci-fi novel.

Oh, and my apartment is a mess. Not a "hey, there's a pile of clothes on the floor and dishes in the sink" mess. No, no. That would be bearable. This is more of a "those construction workers shed dust and my apartment is now coated with it and my bathroom is completely torn up and nigh unusable" kind of mess. I hate it. It is driving me bonkers.

So... in conclusion, I am living in a mess, I finally have time to read, and I would appreciate some prompts! Thank you, flist. You are lovely. ♥

It's flailin' time! \o/

This post can basically be summed up in two points:

So... yep. You may now return to your regularly schedule internetting, and I will return to writing and impatiently waiting for my new comics to come in the mail.

Batfic: Progress

Hello, all! I've been writing all day and finally finished the Jason-centric fic I promised after the poor baby never showed up for Father's Day.

Not much else to say... except that this is the sequel to my other Jason-centric fic, Futures, which you may want to read first in order to fully understand this story, but it's not entirely necessary.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy! :D

Title: Progress
Rating: PG-13, for some strong language.
Word Count: ~2700
Characters: Jason Todd, Dick Grayson, Bruce Wayne.
Summary: Memories on a rooftop lead to some surprising revelations and unwelcome changes, but Jason Todd isn't entirely sure he minds. [Jason's POV]
Notes: Largely inspired by this amazing artwork by Kaciart on Tumblr!

And that's all, folks! Hope you enjoyed, thanks for reading!

My childhood is over.

Just got back from the midnight screening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. I enjoyed it tremendously, don't get me wrong, but I'm also rather sad.

You see, I have quite literally grown up with Harry Potter. I read the first book at age 11 and waited dutifully for my letter, which never came, but for about a year I told myself it was just because the poor owls had to fly all the way across the Atlantic. And every year after that - except for the one year that skipped, I can't remember which - I had a new book to look forward to. A new adventure. And that was glorious.

Then the books were done, but the movies remained, so every opening night (or at least, every one I could make it to) I would buy my tickets, get to the theatre early, and spend a couple of hours reliving some of my favorite moments on the big screen. And there was always the next movie to look forward to, always another opening night full of costumes and excitement and the wonderful chills that come with the first iconic notes of Hedwig's theme, or the misty appearance of the Warner Bros symbol, creeping out of the darkness.

For ten years, there was always something new to look forward to from Harry Potter.

And now... it's done.

So forgive me for waxing nostalgic, but... yes, I'm a little sad. I just had to put that out there, as I'm sure there are plenty of others who feel exactly the same. And now for my little ranty-rant about the movie! Spoilers abound, obviously, so tread lightly. ;)

And that's really all I can think of at the moment, but I'm going to see it again on Saturday (and hopefully - according to my friend - I'll be able to see the Dark Knight Rises trailer beforehand!) so I might notice more then.

For the moment I'm going to get some sleep. Good night, dear friends!

DCU Fic: Doodles

I've had this fic on the back-burner for a while and I finally decided to just sit down and finish it because - honestly - the prompt was too good to pass up.

This is another story based on a prompt from the worlds_finest Birthday/Anniversary Celebration, and I had quite a bit of fun with it. I also got a little more involved than I had originally planned to, because... well, you'll see soon enough. ;)

Anyway, TA-DA! Another SuperBat story! \o/

Title: Doodles
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~1,000
Characters/Pairings: Superman/Batman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, J'onn J'onzz
Prompt: from mithen : Turns out Superman has a habit of doodling and a gift for drawing funny doodles of Batman during JLA meetings.
Notes: Bruce and Clark are pretty well established as a couple in this, and the JLA knows.

I may be slightly ridiculous.

And that's all for now. Tootles, all! ♥

Holy crap, it's July!

This summer has been going so fast, I can hardly believe it. And I have not done nearly as much writing as I wanted to. Phooey.

But here are some quick bullet-pointed updates!

Off to eat something nutritious before class now. There is melon calling my name. Mmmmmm melon.

So long, friends! :D

Zebra mussels are evil.

Hello, friends! I haven't updated in a while, so here is some general news:

First of all, my parents closed on their new lakehouse this week so I've been hanging out there (hence my lack of online activity), and holy crap it is gorgeous.

We are right on the water and we have jet-skis and kayaks to play with and we can catch fish off our pier and there is no internet yet so it's like we're in the middle of the woods even though we're not, really, and DID I MENTION THIS HOUSE IS GORGEOUS? And after my class today I get to head back for the weekend and the Fourth! Woo! \o/

However, I did slice my foot clean open on a zebra mussel, so now it's all bandaged up and I have a slight limp. Alas. At least it'll be a cool battle wound!

Hm... what else?

My creative writing class is going well. It's been fun so far - pretty standard. My internship is going well, too. I haven't had much time to write lately, but I'm hoping that might change this weekend. I'm sorely tempted to enter the SuperBat Big Bang, so I've been tossing plot ideas for that around, but that won't start for a little while.

Honestly, I've been pretty dull for the past couple of weeks. But I'm still alive! :D

Tootles until next Tuesday, dear internet. I will miss you so! ♥

Still a complete nerd.

Hey, remember this post?

Well, I played my SimBats again last night, so I am officially still a complete nerd. But now I'm a complete nerd with screencaps because I am utterly ridiculous! \o/

And that's all for now! Because I have to do some writing and reading and real life stuff, gosh darnnit.

Enjoy my nerdiness! :D

Batfic: A Typical Holiday

Happy Father's Day, everyone! :D

In celebration, I - of course - had to write some fic. And in doing so, I finally realized what the problem with this fandom is: WAY TOO MANY POSSIBLE PLOT BUNNIES FOR FATHER-FOCUSED STORIES. *headdesk*

Seriously, I had so many ideas for this Father's Day fic, from angsty to fluffy to smutty (yes, smutty, now hush) and... BLARGH.

But this finally worked out, and it's my first time writing the girls (WOO!), so I hope you enjoy!

Title: A Typical Holiday
Rating: PG
Pairings/Characters: Tim Drake, Dick Grayson, Cassandra Cain, Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne, Stephanie Brown, Barbara Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth.
Word Count: ~2000
Summary: Bondage, frosting fights, and impromptu hugs? Just another holiday with the Batfamily.
Note: This is set pre-reboot, because pre-reboot makes me happy.

Oh well - I hope you liked it! Thanks for reading, guys! :D
Bats & Supes

DCU Fic: Stripes

Yes, that's right, I wrote more fic. Isn't it amazing how productive I can be when I have nothing better to do? WOO SUMMER. \o/

This was written in response to this prompt from the 5th Anniversary/Birthday Celebration going on over at worlds_finest. It was supposed to be short and silly and, well... it got away from me, as fics often do. And even though there is a part of me that still can't believe I wrote this, there is another larger part that is honestly rather pleased with it, so... I REGRET NOTHING.

It's also my first Supes/Bats story, and that alone made it super fun to write, so I hope you enjoy reading it! Thanks, guys! :D

Title: Stripes
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~3000 (Yes, that's right. I'm still not sure how that happened.)
Characters/Pairings: Clark/Bruce, Dick, Tim, Alfred.
Prompt: From makeitrednblack : Bruce gets cat ears and a tail, what other cat aspects does he have? (he purrs, he likes sleeping in the sun, gets high off of catnip?)
Summary: In which Bruce has a problem, Clark can't stop staring, and it becomes increasingly difficult to tell just who is seducing whom.

And now I'm off to enjoy my stormy night! The sirens are going off and everything. This is exciting. :)
